Mumbai Crime: 16-Year-Old Girl Attacked Over One-Sided Love in Mulund, Accused Nabbed Swiftly

A shocking incident of assault on a minor girl over a case of one-sided love has come to light from the Mulund area of Mumbai. The Mulund Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and arrested the accused within 24 hours.

According to police officials, the 16-year-old victim and the accused, identified as Ashish Gautam Bansode (21), a resident of Badlapur East, were previously acquainted. On Wednesday morning, around 9 am, the girl had arrived in Mulund to attend her college when the accused approached her.

The accused allegedly grabbed the girl from behind by the neck and questioned her, asking why she was not speaking to him. He then attempted to attack her with an iron sickle in a bid to kill her. However, the girl’s friend intervened, resulting in the blow landing on the back of his neck, leaving him injured.

Following the attack, the accused reportedly threatened to kill the girl and created panic in the area by shouting and hurling abuses in a public place.

Based on the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with provisions of the Arms Act and the Mumbai Police Act.

Police acted swiftly after the incident and arrested the accused within 24 hours. The iron sickle used in the crime has been seized. Officials stated that the accused will be produced before the court.

Meanwhile, it has also emerged that the accused has a prior criminal record, with cases registered against him at Badlapur Police Station, including offences related to narcotics and other crimes.
