A fire broke out at a slum in Mumbai's Malad area on Thursday afternoon, January 22, after an LPG cylinder explosion. According to the information, the incident took place in Squatter's Colony in Malad East.
A video shared by Gallinews India shows black smoke coming out of a structure, which created chaos in the populated slum area. In the video, it can be seen that people were capturing the visuals in their mobile phones while a Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) vehicle was seen at the spot.
There are no reports of casualties or injuries in the incident. Further investigation will be conducted by the police and the fire department after extinguishing the blaze.
Earlier in the day, a truck carrying LPG gas cylinders caught fire on the busy Mumbai-Goa Highway near Vashi Naka in Raigad district. The fire triggered cylinder explosions, which have caused panic among commuters and residents.
The truck was completely gutted by the blaze after a fire triggered cylinder explosions. Firefighters, along with local police, rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. No injuries or deaths were reported in the incident.
