Mumbai Hit-and-Run Case: Pickup Vehicle Mows Down Security Guard in Powai; Case Registered

A 40-year-old security guard lost his life after being hit by a speeding Bolero pickup vehicle in Mumbai’s Powai area. The deceased has been identified as Ajay Rajendra Singh. The driver of the vehicle fled the spot after the accident, and Powai police have registered a case and launched a search to trace the accused.

The incident occurred on Saturday between noon and 12.30 pm near Lake Home, close to IRB Company on Chandivali Farm Road in Powai. Ajay Singh was employed as a security guard at Hiranandani Gardens in Powai and lived with his wife Meena Ajay Singh in the Chandivali area.

On Saturday, Ajay had left home for work as usual. Around 12.30 pm, Meena received a phone call from her neighbour, identified as Sultana, informing her that Ajay had been knocked down by a Bolero pickup vehicle and had sustained serious injuries. She was told that he had been rushed to Hiranandani Hospital for treatment.

Following the call, Meena rushed to the hospital, where she learnt that her husband had suffered severe injuries to his face and neck after being hit by the speeding vehicle. After the collision, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Despite medical efforts, doctors declared Ajay Singh dead at around 1.15 pm.

Upon receiving information, Powai police reached the accident site and conducted a preliminary investigation. Based on Meena Singh’s statement, the police have registered a case against the unidentified driver for causing death due to negligent driving. As the accused driver is absconding, police teams are actively searching for him and further investigation is underway.
