Mumbai Local Train Accident: Class 12 Student Dies After Falling From Moving Train on First Day of Board Exam

Mumbai: A 18-year-old youth heading for 12th board exams dies after falling from the moving train near Kalwa. This incident occurred on  February 10, 2026 has left everyone in shock and raised the concern of safety of students traveling for exam during peak hours. Deceased Soham Sachin Katre, resident of Dombivali, was also traveling in a local train for his exams. Due to rush between  Kalwa and Mumbra he lost his balance and fell off the moving local train.

Soham's exam center was at Manisha Vidyalaya in Kalwa. Since today was the first paper of Class XII, Soham had left home in the morning. However, due to the rush of people between Kalwa and Mumbra, Soham lost his balance and fell from the moving local train. Soham was seriously injured after falling off and died on the spot

News of Soham's death has left everyone in shock and concern about the safe train travel has raised due to constant train incidence. Soham's brother has demanded that the railway administration make proper arrangements for the students going for the exams. Soham's death has once again brought to the fore the issue of life-threatening congestion on the Central Railway.

During the examination period, students have to rely on local trains to reach the center on time. However, as this same journey claimed the life of a student, there is immense anger and agitation being expressed in the Dombivli area.
