Mumbai Local Train Update: Western Line Services Disrupted Due to OHE Failure Between Bhayandar and Naigaon, Commuters Stranded
Suburban services on the Western Railway were disrupted on Sunday after an overhead equipment (OHE) failure on the down-through line between Bhayandar railway station and Naigaon railway station. The breakdown impacted both fast and slow local trains, leading to significant delays across the network. Commuters expressed anger as services were running around 40 to 45 minutes behind schedule. Several videos circulating on social media showed stranded passengers stepping out of halted trains and walking along the tracks to reach their destinations. An Instagram handle @gemsofmbmc posted a video showing a train halted midway, with passengers stranded on a bridge between Bhayandar and Naigaon stations.

On the M-indicator's train chat section, several commuters were also discussing that the trains were running 20 to 30 minutes late. Commuters stated that there is a significant delay in the Mumbai local train services due to an OHE breakdown between Bhayandar and Naigaon. Trains are reportedly delayed by up to 30 minutes, with some fast trains being rerouted to the slow track. Additionally, there are reports of trains being stationary for extended periods, particularly between Kandivali and Borivali. An AC train to Virar is also not moving from Nalla Sopara.
A commuter posted on X that the Borivali–Valsad train had been stranded at Vasai for more than 30 minutes. In response, DRM–Western Railway clarified that Train No. 69139, the Borivali–Valsad MEMU scheduled for April 12, 2026, was cancelled between Vasai Road (BSR) and Valsad (BL) due to an overhead equipment (OHE) failure.

DRM-Mumbai Central WR said, "Dear Passenger, your train has been delayed due to an OHE breakdown on the DNTH line between BYR–NIG. Efforts are being made to restore normal operations at the earliest. The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted."
The issue was detected at kilometre 44/1–6, leading to at least one local train being halted on the affected section.
