Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Republic Day 2026 Parade to Affect Roads in Dadar From 6 AM; Check Route Diversions and Other Details Here
The Mumbai Police have issued an elaborate traffic advisory ahead of the Republic Day 2026 parade scheduled at Shivaji Park in Dadar. The advisory outlines extensive road closures, one-way traffic arrangements, diversions and no-parking restrictions to ensure smooth conduct of the parade and public safety. Officials said the measures are essential to manage the movement of parade contingents, security personnel and spectators expected to gather in large numbers. Motorists have been urged to avoid the Shivaji Park area during the restricted hours and cooperate with traffic police deployed across Dadar and nearby localities.
According to the police, vehicular movement on all roads surrounding Shivaji Park will be completely prohibited between 6.00 am and 12.00 noon on January 26. Temporary diversions will be implemented to prevent congestion and ensure uninterrupted movement of emergency and parade-related vehicles. Authorities clarified that the restrictions are being imposed to avoid danger, obstruction and inconvenience to the general public during the national event. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel in advance and strictly follow on-ground instructions issued by traffic officials.
Road closures and one-way traffic arrangements in Dadar will include the following:
N. C. Kelkar Road and Keluskar Road from L. J. Road Junction (Gadkari Junction) to the north and south junctions will remain closed
Keluskar Road South will operate as a one-way route for eastbound traffic
Traffic from Swatantra Veer Savarkar Road will be diverted via Keluskar Road South
Right turn at Meenatai Thackeray statue on Keluskar Road North will be one-way towards the west
S. K. Bole Road will function one-way from Siddhivinayak Junction to Portuguese Church
Swatantra Veer Savarkar Road will be closed between Siddhivinayak Junction and Yes Bank
Mumbai Police have also announced alternate routes for motorists to ease movement:
Vehicles from Siddhivinayak Junction heading towards the western suburbs should turn right at S. K. Bole Road, then take a left towards Portuguese Church and proceed via Gokhale Road, Gadkari Junction, L. J. Road and Raja Bade Chowk
Vehicles approaching from Yes Bank Junction will not be allowed to move towards Siddhivinayak Junction
Such vehicles should instead use Shivaji Park Road No. 5, Pandurang Naik Road, take a right turn at Raja Bade Chowk and continue via L. J. Road, Gadkari Junction and Gokhale Road towards South Mumbai
Strict no-parking zones will be enforced during the restricted period on the following roads:
Keluskar Road (Main, South and North)
Lt. Dilip Gupte Road from Keluskar Road North to Pandurang Naik Road
Pandurang Naik Road (Shivaji Park Road No. 5)
N. C. Kelkar Road from Gadkari Chowk to Kotwal Garden and Saint Dnyaneshwar Road
Police have warned that vehicles parked in no-parking zones will be towed away without prior notice.
The Republic Day parade route march will begin from Shivaji Park ground through Gate No. 5. The procession will then take a left turn at Keluskar Road North, proceed through C. Ramchandra Chowk, turn left onto Swatantra Veer Savarkar Road, pass Sangeetkar Vasant Desai Chowk and conclude at Narali Baug. Mumbai Police have appealed to motorists and pedestrians to avoid the parade route between 6.00 am and 12.00 noon, assuring that signage boards and traffic personnel will be deployed to assist commuters throughout the area.
