Mumbai Traffic Update: Police Issue Advisory for Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani 2024 Aagman Procession; Check Alternate Routes

The Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani 2024 Aagman will occur today, Saturday (August 31). The much-anticipated Ganesh idol will arrive on the occasion of Ganeshotsav 2024. The arrival and first look of the Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani Ganpati idol are scheduled for 2 PM. A grand ceremony will be attended by a large crowd from Mumbai and nearby areas. As a result, a significant police force has been deployed near Parel and Dadar.

The Mumbai Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory on Saturday, August 31, ahead of the Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani Aagman procession and various other processions. Vehicular restrictions and diversions have been imposed in central Mumbai, particularly around the Parel, Bhoiwada, and Lalbaug areas.

In the advisory, the police have requested Mumbaikars to avoid Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Road (Dr. B.A. Road) when visiting Lalbaug in Parel. They have advised using alternate routes such as Barrister Nath Pai Road, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road, N.M. Joshi Road, and Sane Guruji Marg.

Route Closures and Alternative Routes:

1. Dr. B.A. Road, North Bound:

Closure: Traffic will be closed from Hansraj Rathod Chowk (Bawla Compound Junction) to Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharat Mata Junction).

Alternatives:

Use Lalbaugh flyover.

Take a right at Hansraj Rathod Chowk, follow T.B. Kadam Marg, Datta Ram Lad Marg, Shravandada Yashwant Chowk, G.D. Ambekar Marg, Shree Sai Baba Marg, Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk, and turn right towards your desired destination.

2. Dr. B.A. Road, South Bound:

Closure: Traffic will be closed from Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharat Mata Junction) to Hansraj Rathod Chowk (Bawla Compound Junction).

Use Lalbaugh flyover.

Take a right at Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk, follow Currey Road Bridge, Shingate Master Chowk, N.M. Joshi Road, Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction), Abdul Hamid Ansari Chowk (Khada Parsee), and turn towards your desired destination.

Take a left at Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk, follow Gijibhai Lane, Sadashiv Gopal Naik Chowk, Shree Sai Baba Marg, Sai Baba T Junction, G D Ambekar Sleep Road, Veterinary College Gate, G. D. Ambekar Road, Ambewadi Naka, Shravan Yashwant Chowk, Barrister Nath Pai Road, and P D Mello Road.

3. Sane Guruji Marg:

Closure: Traffic will be closed between Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction) and Saint Jagnade Maharaj Chowk (Gas company junction).

Alternatives:

On N.M. Joshi Marg, from Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction) north bound, go straight to N.M. Joshi Road, Shingate Master Chowk, Delisle Road Bridge, and N.M. Joshi Road.

On N.M. Joshi Marg, from Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction) south bound, go straight to Sane Guruji Marg, Satrasta Circle, Keshavrao Khadye Marg, Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction), and S Bridge.

4. N M Joshi Marg:

Closure: Traffic will be closed between Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokali Junction) and Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction).

Alternatives:

On N.M. Joshi Marg, from Byculla Railway Station to Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokali Junction) north bound, go to 
Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction), left turn, Keshavrao Khadye Marg, Satrasta Circle, Sane Guruji Marg, and Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokali Junction).

On N.M. Joshi Marg, from Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokali Junction) to Byculla Railway Station south bound, go straight to Sane Guruji Marg, Satrasta Circle, Keshavrao Khadye Marg, Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction), and turn right.

5. Mahadev Palav Marg (Curry Road):

Closure: The road will be closed from Shingate Master Chowk to Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk.

Alternative: Vehicles coming from N.M. Joshi Road northbound can go straight from Shingate Master Chowk to Delisle Road Bridge and N.M. Joshi Road.
