Mumbai: Water Pipeline Bursts in Andheri During Road Concreting Work; Fountain Shoots Up to 3rd Floor

Water supply likely to be disrupted in parts of Mumbai's Andheri West after a water pipeline was burst on Monday night, February 16. A local X (formerly Twitter) user shared the video with information about a major leakage of water, which led to wastage of several litres of water on the road.

According to the X post, the incident occurred in Shastri Nagar of Andheri West during the road concrete work. The damaged water pipeline throws water into the air up to the 3rd floor.

Last week, on February 9, a water pipeline was reportedly leaking at Mahim Causeway, due to which supply was hampered in parts of Khar West and Bandra West. According to the Times of India report, a leak was reported from a 900mm diameter pipeline located in Mahim Causeway.

The incident was reported to BMC during the excavation work. Mumbai Traffic cop alerted civic authorities about the major leakage. Officials from BMC reached the site and the repair was completed to contain the leakage and restore the water supply to normal.
