A day after International Women’s Day 2026, the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar on Tuesday, March 10, has announced relief measures for women government employees in Mumbai. During her first speech in the Maharashtra Legislative Council today, Sunetra Pawar gave a big relife to women govt employees in city, called ‘Come Early, Go Early’, which provides flexibility in working hours for women. The decision is expected to benefit women in Mumbai, where commuting and congestion cause significant stress.

Women working in government offices in the city often face a heavy rush in Mumbai local trains and buses during morning office hours. To reduce this pressure, the government has proposed a flexibale timetable for working hours. Women employees who report to the office at 9.15 am will be allowed to leave 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time in the evening. This will help them reach home before the peak evening rush and spend more time with their families.

“Under the concept of ‘Early In, Early Out’, women employees in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) will be given a 30-minute grace time to leave the office early in the evening, depending on their arrival time between 9.15 am and 9.45 am. This decision will help reduce the inconvenience caused during rush hours,” Sunetra Pawar said.
