Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary hoisted the flag of the sports competition. In this event 610 disabled players of the city are participating in 22 different competitions. On this occasion, South Nagpur MLA Mohan Mate, Additional Municipal Commissioner Aanchal Goyal, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ranjana Lade, Medical Health Officer Dr. Deepak Selokar, Transport Manager Vinod Jadhav, Sports Officer Dr. Piyush Ambulkar, Hanumannagar Zone Assistant Commissioner Narendra Bawankar, Zilla Parishad Social Welfare Officer Kishore Bhoyar, District Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Department Abhijit Raut, Sports Expert Umesh Vajurkar, Arjun and Dronacharya Award winners Vijay Munishwar, Sanjay Lunge, Chandrashekhar Pachode etc. were present.

MLA Mate praised the NMC for organising the Divyang Sports Competition and said that this will inspire Divyang students to participate in Paralympic Games. Municipal Commissioner Chaudhary also congratulated the students. He said, "India's performance in Paralympics is continuously improving. Such sports competitions will provide a platform for those who want to pursue various sports and compete in national and international competitions. Parents should help develop the talent of their children." On the first day of the competition, various competitions including running, short jump, long jump, softball throw, swimming, cycling, tug of war, cricket, shotput, carrom, freestyle, sitting volleyball, wheelchair running, chess, passing the ball, spot jump were organised.
