Nagpur, June 16

Justice duo Sunil Shukre and Anil Kilor of Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court on Wednesday said that the final hearing on petition filed by GMR Airport Company due to cancellation of contract for expansion work of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport will be held on July 1.

The state government had invited tender for development of Nagpur airport under PPP on design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis. Around 13 companies took part in it. Out of this, four companies including GMR company were selected for technical bidding. After this it was decided to award the contract to GMR company.

Therefore, the GMR company had selected the partner company to start the work and also had repeated correspondence with the state government regarding starting the work. But on March 16, 2020, the state government decided to cancel this contract due to no agreement on profit sharing. The company says that this decision is illegal.
