This year, the tournament will be held from April 30 to May 4 at Sevanand Vidyalaya, Koradi, This information was shared during a press conference by State revenue minister and guardian minister of Nagpur and Amravati districts Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
The event is s being jointly carried out under the leadership of Chandrashekhar Bawankule, by the Deputy Director Office of Sports and Youth Services, Nagpur Division, Amateur Association of Kabaddi, and Nagpur Rural Kabaddi Association.Aaddressing the media persons Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that Nagpur district has received the honour of hosting the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup State-Level Kabaddi Tournament for the year 2025–26 after a gap of 19 years.
The inauguration of the tournament will be held on April 30 at 6 pm at the hands of chief minister . Devendra Fadnavis and in the presence of deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar. The matches will be played in league format followed by knockout rounds, and will take place every evening.
A total of 448 people, including referees and other officials from across the state, will be involved in the tournament. Considering the intense heat, special care arrangements have been made for all participants. union Minister of State for Sports Raksha Khadse will visit the tournament on May 2. In addition, union Minister Nitin Gadkari is also expected to visit the tournament on either May 1 or May 3, he said.
Also present at the press conference were Nagpur Rural Kabaddi Association president Sanket Bawankule, MLA Charansingh Thakur, former MLA Sudhakar Kohale, District Sports Officer Pallavi Dhatrak, NMC Sports Officer Piyush Ambulkar, Wardha District Officer Asha Meshram, District Information Officer Vinod Rapatwar, Sports Officer Anil Borwar, and others.
