Third ‘Oxygen Express’ reaches Nagpur

Corona patients need oxygen. But due to acute shortage, the needy patients are not getting oxygen. Oxygen has been continuously supplied to Nagpur by railways for the last three to four days and the third ‘Oxygen Express’ reached Nagpur on Sunday. It contained 63.54 metric tonnes (MT) of oxygen in four tankers. A total of 170 MT of oxygen was made available to Nagpur on Sunday.

This is the third train to reach Nagpur carrying oxygen. Earlier, the first ‘Oxygen Express’ had reached Nagpur from Visakhapatnam on April 23 carrying seven oxygen tankers, out of which three tankers were given to Nagpur, while the remaining four tankers were given to Nashik.

Another train carrying oxygen from Angul in Odisha reached city on Saturday. After that, at 2.30 am on Sunday, 63.54 metric tonnes of oxygen was made available to Nagpur via Oxygen Express from Angul, Odisha.

Oxygen Express, which arrived at night, was halted at platform No. 8. Four tankers were then unloaded with the help of ramps.

A total of 170 metric tonnes of oxygen was brought to the district on Sunday.

Out of this, 62 metric tonnes was distributed to oxygen suppliers in the district and 72 metric tonnes to hospitals.

A total of 62 MT of oxygen was supplied to Jagdamba - 10 MT, Bhartiya 10 MT, Aditya (Hingana) 15 MT, Aditya (Butibori) 15 MT, Vidarbha 6 MT and Rukmani (Hingna) 6 MT was distributed. GMCH received 26 MT, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (Mayo) 20 MT, Shalinitai Meghe 5 MT, Lata Mangeshkar 6 MT, Alexis 4 MT, Asha Hospital (Kamptee) 2 MT, Avanti 4 MT, KRIIMS- 1 MT, Orange City 1 MT, Suretech 2 MT and Wockhardt 1 MT. A total of 72 MT was distributed

3,322 Remdesivir injections

The district received 3,322 injection of Remdesivir on Sunday. They were distributed as per the government distribution order.
