Nashik: Six Employees Arrested for Molesting Female Colleagues

A shocking case has emerged in which six male employees of a multinational company in Nashik allegedly molested female colleagues over several years and physically abused one of the victims under the pretext of marriage. Some complaints also allege that religious sentiments were hurt.

Police have arrested all six accused, and a court has remanded them in police custody till April 10. Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a detailed probe.

According to police, the victims and the accused had been working in different positions at the company under the jurisdiction of Mumbai Naka Police Station since 2022. The accused allegedly developed an acquaintance with the victims and then misused it by forcing conversations, making inappropriate remarks, and deliberately touching them. They also allegedly tried to intrude into the victims’ personal lives.

A total of nine victims have filed complaints. Based on these, eight cases of molestation and hurting religious sentiments have been registered at Mumbai Naka Police Station, while one case of rape and molestation has been registered at Deolali Camp Police Station, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Sandeep Mitke said.

The victims have also alleged that they were forced to eat non-vegetarian food despite being vegetarians, and that the accused followed them after office hours and made obscene remarks.

The accused have been identified as Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, Nida Khan, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi and Shafi Sheikh. One accused was arrested from Pune, while the others were held from different parts of Nashik.

Police have charged the accused with molestation and hurting religious sentiments. In one case registered at Deolali Camp Police Station, accused Tausif Attar is also charged with rape and physical assault.

Separate cases have been registered based on the complaints, revealing the involvement of the six accused in nine offences. An SIT has been constituted for a thorough investigation.
