He was presenting the report card of the government after the completion of 50 days.
The Minister stressed that making India a $5 trillion economy was no more just a dream and a roadmap for achieving it had been laid down in these 50 days.
Emphasising that the government had strived to be inclusive, he said the primary focus of the government was towards farmers, soldiers, youths, labourers, businessmen, research, relation with neighbouring countries, investment, infrastructure development, fight against corruption and social justice.
Enumerating several key decisions of the government, Javadekar said: "Rs 6,000 will now be provided to all farmers, Minimum Support Price (MSP) for several crops has doubled and in some cases trebled in comparison to 2014 rates, 10,000 farmers producer organisations are being formed. Changes in Labour Code will benefit 40 crore informal sector workers through wage and labour security. For the first time, pension has been provided for traders."
Javadekar added that in the course of next five years, Rs 100 lakh crore will be invested towards development of infrastructure. He highlighted that the government was working in mission mode to comprehensively address water-related issues.
On the security front, he highlighted that the government had been successful in reducing the impact of separatists in Jammu and Kashmir.
He added that India had emerged as a global leader.
The Minister spoke on the government's crackdown on the corruption in bureaucracy. "Steps have been taken to strengthen action against economic offenders. A Bill is being brought to act against Ponzi schemes."
He talked about the decisiveness of the government in safeguarding children against sexual crimes through amendments to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
He also talked about steps taken to reform medical education in the country and to ensure transparency, accountability and quality in the governance of medical education.
