BJP mayoral candidate Shailaja Sachdeva has won the Ambala mayor election 2025 with a significant margin. After 14 rounds of counting, Sachdeva secured 40,620 votes, while Congress candidate Amisha Chawla got 20,133 votes, giving Sachdeva a victory margin of 20,487 votes. Following her victory, BJP supporters celebrated outside the counting center.

In the Ambala Municipal Elections, BJP candidates also emerged victorious in several wards. Mohit Kaushik won from ward number 3, Renu Gujjar from ward number 2, Shilpa Shetty from ward number 4, Jeevan Azad from ward number 5, and Sandeep Azad from ward number 6. BJP's Somnath won from ward number 8, Renu Chauhan from ward number 9, Raman Chhatwal from ward number 10, and Neelam Kashyap Azad from ward number 11.

Shailaja Sachdeva, hailing from the Punjabi community, was fielded by the BJP for the Ambala mayoral election, given the region's large Punjabi voter base. She has been an active member of the BJP Mahila Morcha and has played a significant role in the party’s NGO cell.

During the media interaction after winning, Shailja Sachdeva praised the BJP party and said the party's winning streak would continue across the nation. "I haven't won; the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won. BJP is waving its flag all over Haryana and the entire country. The BJP's winning streak will continue, and you will see us continuing this work. We will guide the pace of development in a new direction."
