Bhopal LPG Cylinder Theft: CCTV Captures 3 Men Fleeing With Cylinders From Former Judge’s Residence

Amid rising concerns over a possible nationwide shortage of LPG cylinders, a theft was reported at the residence of former district judge Vimal Kumar Jain in Bhopal. According to reports, three unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and stole empty LPG cylinders from the house. The incident occurred around midnight on March 14 while the family members were fast asleep, unaware of the activity outside. The theft has raised concerns among residents about security as well as panic-driven crimes linked to fears of limited LPG supply in the country.

Surveillance footage captured the sequence of events, showing three individuals arriving together on a motorcycle. One of them remained seated on the bike near the parking area, while the other two entered the premises. The duo quickly located and collected four empty cylinders kept in the parking space. After gathering the cylinders, they loaded them onto the motorcycle. Within moments, the third accomplice accelerated the vehicle, and all three fled the scene swiftly before anyone in the house could notice their presence.

Before executing the theft, the suspects appeared to carefully assess the situation to avoid detection. CCTV visuals indicate that one of the men briefly peered inside the house to check for any signs of movement or whether anyone was awake. Once they were certain that the occupants were asleep and there was no immediate threat of being caught, they proceeded with their plan. Their cautious approach suggests that the crime was premeditated and carried out with prior observation of the property and its surroundings.

The incident came to light the following morning when the family noticed that all the cylinders kept in the parking area had disappeared. Alarmed by the discovery, they reviewed the CCTV recordings and identified the theft. Robin Jain, the former judge’s son and a practicing lawyer, promptly approached the police and lodged a formal complaint. Acting on the report, police officials began an investigation, examined the footage in detail, and prepared sketches of the suspects. Authorities have since launched a search operation to track down and arrest the accused.
