According to an official release, in the first case, the CBI registered the instant case ontion Assistant and a Monument Attendant from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at Jantar Mantar. March 31 against the accused Beldar, MCD. It was alleged that the accused Beldar, MCD, demanded an illegal gratification/undue advantage of Rs. 80,000 from the complainant for not demolishing the complainant's renovated house.
The CBI laid a trap on April 1 and caught the accused red-handed, who demanded Rs. 5,000 for himself and Rs. 70,000 for the accused JE, MCD, Shahadara North Zone, from the complainant and accepted Rs. 5,000 as illegal gratification/undue advantage.
During the trap proceedings, the role of Junior Engineer, MCD, Shahdara North Zone, Delhi, also surfaced. According to CBI, the aforesaid accused persons have been arrested.
In the Second case, CBI arrested the Conservation Assistant and the monument attendant of the Archaeological Survey of India, Sub-Circle-Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, in a Bribery case.
The CBI registered a case on March 30 against a Monument Attendant and Conversation Assistant, both posted at the Archaeological Survey of India, Sub-Circle-Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.
CBI alleged that the accused demanded illegal gratification/undue advantage of Rs. 3,50,000 on behalf of the accused Conservation Assistant from the complainant for revoking the notice and allowing him to continue the above-mentioned work.
After negotiation, the accused agreed to accept the bribe amount of Rs. 3,10,000 and directed the complainant to deliver the bribe of Rs. 1,00,000 as part payment of the demanded bribe.
The CBI laid a trap on April 1 and caught the Monument Attendant, red-handed, while demanding and accepting the illegal gratification/undue advantage of Rs. 1,00,000 from the complainants as part payment of the demanded bribe of Rs. 3.10 lakh.
Further investigation is underway.
