Covid-19: 30 nodal officers named to coordinate with states

In the wake of Covid-19 outbreak, the Centre on Tuesday assigned 30 officers of the level of Joint Secretary and above as nodal officers to liaison, coordinate and help the states.

New Delhi, March 17 In the wake of Covid-19 outbreak, the Centre on Tuesday assigned 30 officers of the level of Joint Secretary and above as nodal officers to liaison, coordinate and help the states.

The move is to ensure effective and seamless coordination between the Centre and the states and the officers will be deputed to the states, to work in close coordination with the state authorities for coordinating preparedness and response measures, an official statement said.

An orientation meeting of all theses officers is also scheduled for Wednesday.

The government earlier said that all the offices have been advised regarding installation of thermal scanners at the entry of government buildings.

"Mandatory placing of hand sanitisers at the entry of government buildings. Those found having flu-like symptoms may be advised to take proper treatment/quarantine etc," an advisory issued on Tuesday read.
