The second wave of corona in the country is slowly receding. Corona has so far killed more than 3 lakh people in the country. The main cause of death was published in the journal Infection and Drug Resistance. Antibiotics have been widely used on patients during the Corona period. This creates a superbug in their body. As a result, bacterial and fungal infections increase rapidly, according to a research report.

Antibiotics are used in the treatment of corona patients. Antibiotics are used to neutralize microorganisms (bacteria). However, when antibiotics are overused, the microorganisms develop resistance to them. Therefore, antibiotics do not work, according to the Journal of Infection and Drug Resistance.

During the first wave of corona, some hospitalized patients were diagnosed with some bacterial and fungal infections. These infections were spread by microorganisms that neutralize drugs. To gather information about this, the researchers studied 17,563 patients admitted in 10 hospitals in the country. According to the research, 28 per cent of corona patients were infected with bacteria and fungi. Corona patients were infected with bacterial and fungal infections caused by microorganisms neutralizing antibiotics.

According to the research report, antibiotics caused additional infections in corona patients. This is the reason why 60% of corona patients in the country died. As a result, 60 percent of deaths were caused by a superbug caused by bacteria and fungi alone. Of those who did not fall prey to the superbug, only 11 percent died. Most of them were suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.
