India reported 38,792 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per the health ministry’s July 14 update. 

As many as 624 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, new recoveries at 41,000 in the same period, the July 14 update stated. 

Among states, Uttar Pradesh administered the most (cumulative) vaccine doses at 3.85 crore, followed by Maharashtra at 3.75 crore and Gujarat at 2.84 crore.

India now has 4,29,946 active cases as per the July 14 update. The active cases constitute 1.40 per cent of the total cases.

Maharashtra has the highest number of active cases at 1,11,622 in the country followed by Kerala at 1,11,578 and Karnataka at 34,881 Tamil Nadu 31,819 and Andhra Pradesh at 27,195. 

Maharashtra reported the most 146 new deaths, as per the July 14 update, followed by Kerala (100), Odisha (63), Karnataka (61) and Assam (37). 

Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli/Daman and Diu, Goa, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Lakshadweep and Rajasthan did not report any deaths today.

The total recoveries in India now stand over 3,01,04,720 with the recovery rate at 97.28 percent, as per the health ministry’s July 14 update. 

Maharashtra recorded the most new recoveries at 15,277, followed by Kerala at 11,447, Karnataka at 3,204, Tamil Nadu 3,104 and Andhra Pradesh at 3,041.

Total COVID-19 deaths in India now stand at 4,11,408 as per July 14 update. The mortality rate is now at 1.33 percent.

India commenced its COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 16 this year. Till date, 38,76,97,935 vaccine doses have been administered so far including 37,14,441 in the last 24 hours, under the nationwide vaccination drive.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 43,59,73,639 samples have been tested up to July 13 for Covid-19. Of these 19,15,501 samples were tested on Tuesday.
