Delhi Firing Incident: Man Shot Dead While Protecting Son from Assault in Nand Nagri
A shocking incident of crime has came to light were a 35-year-old man was shot dead in northeast Delhi’s Nand Nagri, while he was rescuing his teenage son from an assault. This incident occurred on Tuesday evening and has created a moment of fear among locals. According to reports, victim, Mohammad Umaruddin, had received a call from his 15-year-old son, Tehzeem, who said he and his friends were being beaten up near a school in the A-2 Block area.
Deceased, accompanied by his wife Rabia, reached the spot to intervene. One of the assailants pulled out a pistol upon seeing the parents arrive. Accused allegedly fired three to four rounds in the air before shooting Umaruddin at close range in the chest. The attackers fled immediately after the incident.
Umaruddin was declared dead at GTB Hospital. Police, including crime and forensic teams, investigated the scene and collected evidence, leading to a murder case and ongoing investigation. The Deputy Commissioner of Police stated that suspects have been identified and multiple teams are searching for them. CCTV footage is being reviewed.
