Delhi Shocker: Man Lured Via Dating App, Robbed of Rs 7 Lakh, Accused Arrested

A gang involved in luring and robbing victims via dating apps has busted in the Kalkaji area of New Delhi. Police arrested five accused, including a woman, within hours of robbery involving Rs. 7 Lakh. This incident occurred on Wednesday when victim identified as Anuroop Narula, was contacted by a woman using the profile name ‘Sherry’ on a dating app called ‘3F’. She invited him to meet at the Nehru Place area.

Victim, upon reaching the location, he found the woman accompanied by three men. The group allegedly attacked him, forcibly dragged him into a car, and robbed him of cash and valuables. Following the complaint, police acted swiftly and managed to trace and apprehend all five accused.

According to NDTV report,  accused intimidated and threatened Narula, attempting to strangle him and forcing him to transfer approximately Rs 7 lakh to their accounts via UPI, ATM cards, and credit cards. After the robbery, they dropped him at Nehru Place, threatening him with death if he reported the incident.

Following the complaint, Delhi Police registered a case under Sections 309(4), 309(6), 140(3), and 3(5) of the BNS. A police team led by ACP Ratan Lal and Inspector RS Dagar analyzed CCTV footage, phone records, and digital transaction data (CDR, OSINT, and FASTag data). During a raid, Rishabh Raghav was arrested along with the crime's vehicle.
