Tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir Valley and Shopian District on Saturday afternoon, April 12, after an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 on the Richter scale struck Pakistan. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported from the two places so far. Termors felt in Shopian district.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a latitude of 33.70 degrees North and a longitude of 72.43 degrees East, with a depth of 10 kilometers. This places the origin of the tremor within Pakistan.

"EQ of M: 5.3, On: 12/04/2025 13:00:55 IST, Lat: 33.70 N, Long: 72.43 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Pakistan," NCS reported on X.
