Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has released a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for transporting likely/confirmed cases of COVID-19

The press release states, "This SOP is applicable to the current phase of COVID19 pandemic in India - local transmission & limited community transmission".

We are technically only in local transmission of the coronavirus, said Health ministry Joint Secretary Luv Aggarwal on Monday.

“Community word should not be used,” added Aggarwal. “We should ban that word. We are in a phase of local transmission and there is no community transmission anywhere.”

India began its sixth day in lockdown on Monday as confirmed coronavirus cases stood at 1,071. Out of these, 942 are being treated, 29 people have died, 99 have recovered, and one person has migrated. The highest number of cases have been reported from Kerala and Maharashtra with 194 and 193 infections. Eight Covid-19 patients have died in Maharashtra – the highest number in the country.
