The Total number of COVID-19 positive cases in India has risen to 49,391 including 33,514 active cases, 1694 deaths, 14,182 cured/discharged and 1 migrated, said Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

At the regular media briefing on the COVID-19 situation in the country, Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare emphasized that it is important to effectively implement contact tracing, active case search and clinical management of cases.

Maharashtra continues to have the most number of COVID-19 cases with 14,541 patients of which, 2,465 have been cured or discharged while 583 people have succumbed to the virus.
