Abhay Singh, popularly known as “IIT Baba” on social media during the Maha Kumbh, has secretly tied the knot, surprising many of his followers. He recently arrived in Jhajjar, Haryana, along with his wife, intending to give an unexpected visit to his family. His relatives were left stunned upon seeing him married, especially since he had earlier renounced a life of comfort after completing his education at IIT to embrace spirituality. Singh had gained widespread attention during the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh for his unique personality, blending a highly educated background with a monk-like appearance and lifestyle, which intrigued people across the country.
On Monday, Abhay Singh visited his hometown Jhajjar with his wife for the first time after their marriage. During his visit, he went to the tehsil office to update the KYC details of his bank account. News of his presence quickly spread, drawing a large crowd of locals eager to catch a glimpse of him and click selfies. Singh also spent some time at his father’s chamber in the tehsil premises; his father is a practicing lawyer. He interacted with the media during this visit. His wife, Preetika, who hails from Bengaluru, accompanied him and actively supports his spiritual initiatives.

Abhay Singh married Preetika on February 15, 2026, in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, followed by a court marriage on February 19. The couple is currently residing in Himachal Pradesh. Speaking about his family, Singh remarked that one often has to sacrifice a smaller family for the larger family, meaning society, but assured that he would certainly meet his parents. Despite stepping into married life, his commitment to spirituality remains unchanged. A graduate of IIT Kanpur, Singh chose a spiritual path over a conventional career and became widely known for his distinctive thoughts and unconventional way of life.
