India's daily spike of coronavirus cases remained below the 3 lakh mark for the third consecutive day as only 2,67,334 fresh infections were recorded during a 24-hour period. At present, the cumulative caseload stands at 2,54,96,330, including 32,26,719 active cases, 2,19,86,363 recoveries and 2,83,248 deaths.

However, the threat of a third wave still remains. In order to prevent the damage caused by the third wave, measures need to be taken now to prevent the outbreak of corona. Against the background, the President of the Indian Medical Association, Dr. G. A. Jayalal has given valuable advice.

According to experts, this wave will attack the children first. India recorded the highest single-day COVID-19 fatalities with 4,529 new deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry's data on Wednesday. There is also the risk of a possible third wave."The only way out of this situation is vaccination," he said. We need to vaccinate a large number of people. Failure to do so will not save us from the third wave, he warned.

Large groups should be vaccinated expeditiously. For this, the central government should buy more vaccines. The government should start door-to-door vaccination facility.

As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 18,58,09,302 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across the country so far. This number should increase rapidly, said Dr. Jayalal said. Corona has so far killed 2 lakh 83 thousand 258 people in the country.

At present, the cumulative caseload stands at 2,54,96,330, including 32,26,719 active cases, 2,19,86,363 recoveries and 2,83,248 deaths.
