India Plays Crucial Role in Ending War, Says Israel; Sets 4 Conditions for Iran
Amid the ongoing conflict, discussions around a ceasefire or armistice have intensified. In this backdrop, Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, commented on the situation and outlined Israel’s position. He welcomed ongoing efforts to end the war and said Israel stands firmly with the United States, but stressed that certain conditions are essential for peace.
Azar said that if Iran wants a ceasefire, it must immediately halt its nuclear programme and uranium enrichment. It must also completely stop its ballistic missile programme and end support for groups such as Hezbollah, the Houthis and Hamas. He clarified that Israel is not directly fighting Iran, but responding to threats arising from Iran’s policies.

“The relationship between the United States and Israel is very strong. Both countries share the same approach on this issue,” Azar said. He also claimed that political change could occur in Iran, with people potentially rising against the current regime. He added that Iran is increasingly isolated on the global stage and is not receiving the support it expects from other countries, which he said works in Israel’s favour. Azar was speaking to ABP News.

Azar said India plays a crucial role in maintaining peace and balance in West Asia. Referring to the situation in Israel, he said citizens are still taking shelter due to missile attacks from Iran, though Israel’s defence system remains strong.
