Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. Taking to twitter, the Chief Minister of Manipur today, around 1:39 pm, announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and requested all those who came in close contact with him recently, to self isolate and get tested. The tweet reads, “I have tested positive for COVID-19. I request all those who came in close contact with me recently, to self isolate and get tested.”

It is to be mentioned that Manipur reported five more COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 218. So far, the state has registered 21636 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3084 active and 18,334 recoveries. The recovery rate in the state is 84.73 per cent. 221 civilians and three personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces were confirmed positive in the last 24 hours, an official release stated.
