Meerut Accident: Two Dead, Four Injured as Car Overturns in Smog Near Jani on Meerut-Baghpat Road
Accident occurred early, Tuesday, March 10, 2026 morning in the town of Jani on the Meerut-Baghpat road. According to reports, due to the smog, car lost control and got overturned on the roadside near the town of Jani. Two people died in the accident while four others were seriously injured. All the people were travelling by car to Meerut Railway Station to return home on Tuesday morning after attending a wedding ceremony in Nandpura village, under the Jani police station area. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Meerut.
Ravi Kumar of Nandpura village held his sister's wedding on Monday night. His in-laws from Badlapur, Jaunpur, including Suman Singh (48), wife of Sher Bahadur, Shivam Singh, Ayushi Singh, and Phulwati, all residents of Badlapur, and Rohit Kumar (34), son of Prakash from Bahadurpur Khurd, Amroha district, were traveling to Meerut railway station for their Tuesday morning train back to Jaunpur. Near Jani Khurd on the Meerut-Baghpat road, dense fog caused the car to overturn into a ditch. All occupants sustained serious injuries. Police responded to the scene and transported the injured to the community health center in Panchli Khurd.
Suman Singh (48), wife of Sher Bahadur from Badlapur, Jaunpur, and Rohit Kumar (34), son of Prakash from Bahadurpur Khurd, Amroha district, died from their injuries. The remaining injured individuals were admitted to Meerut Hospital due to the severity of their condition.
