Thirteen people have been arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Mhow town following violent clashes during a rally celebrating India’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy final. The violence, which broke out late Sunday night, left four people injured.

According to PTI, Indore Collector Ashish Singh confirmed multiple incidents of violence in different parts of the town, where three cars and several two-wheelers were vandalized and set on fire. He said police have arrested 13 individuals for arson and violence. Authorities are also considering action under the National Security Act (NSA) against some of them. Police reached the scene quickly to control the situation. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and mobile videos to identify those involved in stone pelting and vandalism. The violence occurred in several areas, including Taal Mohalla, Sewa Marg, Patti Bazar, Manek Chowk, and Jama Masjid.

According to initial reports, the clashes began near a mosque when a group taking part in the victory rally got into a dispute with another group. Tensions escalated over the bursting of firecrackers, leading to stone pelting. Some motorcycles were set on fire after rally participants fled the area. A large security force has been deployed in Mhow. Senior police officials have also reached the town, located 25 kilometers from Indore, to assess the situation. Authorities have urged residents to avoid spreading rumors on social media and warned of strict action against those doing so.

The violence reportedly began after an argument between two groups during the rally. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause and those responsible.
