22 Former minister of state in the previous Shivraj Singh Chauhan-led BJP ministry in Madhya Pradesh, Badrilal Yadav added a new dimension to the bitter conflict between his party and the Congress on Wednesday by passing vulgar comments against Rajgarh Collector Nidhi Nivedita.

The Collector had come into limelight for allegedly slapping a BJP worker during a rally in Biaora in support of the amended Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on Sunday.

"Madam Collector feeds the Congress workers with great love, keeps them in her lap and slaps the Bharatiya Janata Party workers," Yadav said in a rally organised here.

The Congress-led government in the state is being vindictive against the BJP and the Collector was backing the ruling pollical dispensation, Yadav alleged. The BJP top brass was at Biaora during Yadav's outburst.

Congress activist and lawyer Sheikh Mujib of Rajgarh has filed a complaint against Yadav on the online portal of Madhya Pradesh Police for registering a case under Sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, the media coordinator of Madhya Pradesh Congress, Narendra Saluja, said that nothing more shameful could have happened than what Yadav did.

"What's surprising is that not a single BJP leader has apologised for Yadav's comment. Seems like the whole party is silently supporting the errant leader," he said.

Saluja further said that the BJP leadership should apologise to all women for the objectionable remark and the party should show the door to Yadav.

BJP spokesperson Rajneesh Aggarwal said that the party did not support the disputed statement of Yadav, but believed in protesting democratically.

After the disputed speech of Yadav, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, state BJP President Rakesh Singh, Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava and party General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya met the additional Superintendent of Police to file an FIR against Collector Nivedita for slapping a BJP worker.

Nivedita and her deputy Priya Verma had allegedly manhandled some protesters for using abusive language against police officers and senior officials who acted against them for violating restrictive orders under Section 144. The rallyists had also physically attacked the Collector and her deputy.
