Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: Uttar Pradesh Govt Transferred Rs 511 Gas Cylinder Subsidy to Beneficiaries Ahead of Holi 2025
Just before Holi, the Uttar Pradesh government gave a major gift to women. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed a Rs 1,890 crore gas cylinder subsidy to 1.86 crore eligible families in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana scheme. The subsidy amount has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible women. CM Yogi launched this initiative by pressing a button at an event held at Lok Bhawan Auditorium in Lucknow.
Each beneficiary has received Rs 511 in their accounts as part of the scheme. The Chief Minister highlighted that, unlike earlier times when people had to pay bribes for a gas connection, the government has now provided free LPG connections to 10 crore families across the country. He also announced that free gas cylinders would be distributed during Holi and Diwali. CM Yogi said, “This time, Holi and Ramzan coincide, so all eligible beneficiaries will receive the benefits of this scheme.”

How to Register for the Ujjwala Scheme
The Chief Minister urged those who have not yet registered for the Ujjwala scheme to do so. He stated that the scheme aims to protect poor mothers from smoke-related health hazards and assured that no discrimination is being made in its implementation. He also highlighted that 80,000 ration dealers across Uttar Pradesh are providing free food to 15 crore people through 3.6 crore ration cards.
