Rajasthan: 5-Year Old Boy Pull Out Of 32-Feet Borewell After 16 Hour Rescue Operation Dies
After a 5-year-old boy fell into a 32-foot-deep borewell in an agricultural area in the Jhalawar region of Rajasthan on February 23. The boy died on Monday morning shortly after he was pulled out from the borewell after authorities began the rescue effort. He was trapped in the borewell for 16 hours.
At approximately 3:45 am on Monday, Pralhad was rescued by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, who took him to the Dag primary health centre, where the medical staff declared him dead.
Police say Prahalad was playing in the field when the incident happened at 1:15 PM. It is said that as his parents were working across the field, he crouched on a stone slab close to the borewell and slipped into it.
"The SDRF and NDRF crews were working on rescue missions. The teams intended to use some local machinery to pull out the boy," SDM Chhatrapal Choudhary stated.
Kalulal, the victim's father, claims that the borewell was excavated two days ago. The SDM stated that they had made the decision to close it because there was no water outflowing from it.
He pointed out that since the borewell was being filled, it was doubtful that the boy would fall deeper.
Four JCB machines were activated to assist the boy, he continued.
