On Ram Navami, PM Modi will visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu, and inaugurate the new Pamban Bridge around noon. The new Pamban Bridge will replace the previous 1914-built bridge that was closed in 2022 owing to rust issues. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) spent Rs 535 crore to build the 2.5-kilometer-long bridge.
PM Modi will also inaugurate a new rail service between Rameswaram and Tambaram (Chennai) and witness the live operation of the bridge's lift mechanism, as well as the symbolic launch of a ship from the nearby road bridge. Later in the day, around 1.30 PM, PM Modi will lay the groundwork for several infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 8,300 crore. During the event, the Prime Minister will also address a public meeting.Open in app
