Economic assistance of Rs 10 lakh is assured with immediate effect for the family of the deceased by the Chief Minister. According to his wife's ability, an appropriate job will be provided to her. As far as the education of their children is considered, they will be sent to a good school."

Kaldhi Naith, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghaziabad said, "The case is registered. as per the CCTV footage, nine accused have been arrested. The main accused Ravi and Chotu have been arrested. Ravi had planned and Chotu shot at the journalist. Their illegal pistol was also seized. If anyone else's name comes up that person will be arrested."

"Police have taken the statements of the accused. Security arrangements have been made for the family," the SSP said.

Earlier in the day, a group of journalists held a protest against the murder of Joshi.

Vikram Joshi passed away today. He was shot at in Vijay Nagar area on July 20 by unknown persons.

Arun Chandra, a journalist from Ghaziabad said, "I was always with Vikram Joshi. There is an atmosphere of fear in Ghaziabad. If Ghaziabad police had acted on time then Vikramji would have been with us today."

"We are protesting because none of the top officials of the Ghaziabad administration is ready to talk to us. Joshi was young, her wife is around 30 years in age. So we demand that she should be provided with economic assistance and a government job and help should be provided for study of the children but Ghaziabad District magistrate and SSP are not doing anything," Chandra had said.
