According to reports Ramanand, on his way to the fields, was allegedly attacked with sticks and sharp-edged weapons by members of the opposing group, identified as Prem Kumar, Ajay Kumar and Puneet, they added. Hearing his cries for help, Ramanand's associates Shiv Murat, Ram Prakash, and Surendra Kumar intervened, triggering a violent face-off between the two sides.

During the clash, all involved sustained injuries. Meanwhile in Mumbai's Malad East area a minor financial dispute, leaving around 7 to 8 people injured, police said. The accused, identified as Samar Bahadur Singh (38), has been arrested and booked for causing grievous injuries by throwing acid. According to police officials, the complainant, Mayur Kanojia, is engaged in the business of manufacturing imitation jewellery, while the accused works as a polisher in the same trade. The two had prior business dealings. Kanojia allegedly owed Singh ₹26,000, but had mistakenly paid around ₹600 extra. A dispute arose when Kanojia demanded the excess amount back.

On Wednesday, Kanojia visited Singh’s workshop in Pal Nagar, Malad East, to recover the money. An argument broke out between the two. Later, at around 4 pm, Kanojia returned with 6 to 7 associates and allegedly assaulted Singh. In retaliation, Singh reportedly threw a mild sulphuric acid, used for polishing jewellery, at Kanojia and his associates. Kanojia, his companions, and Singh’s brother sustained serious burn injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Singh also suffered minor burns in the incident.
