The second wave of coronavirus is slowly receding in the country. For the last several days, less than 50,000 patients have been registered in the country every day.But newer variants of the Corona are raising concerns. In addition, the information coming from the capital of Assam has posed a new challenge to the medical sector. A female doctor in Guwahati has contracted a double variant. This is the first time in the country that two variants have been infected at the same time. Notably, the female doctor had taken both doses of the corona vaccine. This woman is infected with Delta and Alpha variant of covid.

The first case of simultaneous infection of two variants of the coronavirus was reported in Belgium. There, a 90-year-old woman was infected with alpha and beta variants at the same time. The woman died during treatment. The woman had not taken a single dose of the corona vaccine. Dr. Vishwajyoti Borkakoti, Nodal Officer, ICMR-RMRC, Dibrugarh, confirmed that a female doctor was infected with both the variants of the corona. He said this was the first case of its kind in India.

The female doctor's husband was infected with corona. So the doctor did a corona test. Her report came back positive, informed Vishwajyoti. The report found that the female doctor was infected with two variants of the corona at the same time. Her husband is infected with the alpha variant. The doctor said the woman's condition was stable and she had mild symptoms. She has not yet been hospitalized.
