COVID-19: Delhi Police evacuated 2,361 people from Nizamuddin Markaz

Thousands of Indians and hundreds of foreigners had attended the conference that took place between March 13- March 15 in the densely populated Nizamuddin area.

More than 2000 representatives from many countries, including Indonesia and Malaysia, participated in the Tablighi Jamaat till March 15.

On March 24, a notice was issued by SHO of the Hazrat Nizamuddin police station seeking closure of Markaz premises.

It is estimated that 1500-1700 people had assembled at Markaz building. 1033 people have been evacuated so far - 334 of them have been sent to hospital and 700 sent to quarantine center.

As many as 24 cases were reported on Tuesday from the Markaz Nizamuddin, which belongs to evangelical organisation Tablighi Jamaat

It is being reported that more than a thousand people participated in this conference, most of whom were Indians. There were also some people who were Coronavirus infected.

In Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday, 21 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported, out of which 18 persons are the ones who participated in the Tablighi Jamaat in New Delhi.

Between March 13-15, six people who participated in the program died from coronavirus.
