Parts of Delhi receive fresh spell of rain, AQI remains in ‘poor’ category

According to the India Meteorological Department, several parts of Delhi experienced rainfall on Saturday, and the minimum temperature recorded was 20.1 degrees Celsius, which is four notches below normal. The relative humidity was measured at 63 per cent at 8:30 am.

A fresh spell of rain was reported in east, central, southeast Delhi, and other parts of the city. The IMD has predicted that the skies will remain generally cloudy with light rain or drizzle throughout the day.

The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to reach around 36 degrees Celsius. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was in the ‘poor’ (239) category around 9 am.

The AQI ranges from zero to 500, with an AQI between zero and 50 considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
