Superstar Rajnikanth in his much awaited press conference with media revealed that he has no interest in being Tamil Nadu's chief minister. The ace actor said that he prefers to remain the head of his prospective party. Rajnikanth's revelation is perhaps the biggest news in Tamil Nadu politics as he expressed his interest in bringing about a change in TN politics. Rajnikanth's comment's come ahead of the assembly elections in the state next year and almost after two years he first announced the timeline for his party's launch.

One of Tamil cinema's most celebrated actors, Rajinikanth announced his decision to enter politics to great fanfare on New Year's Eve in 2017. Politics and cinema go hand-in-hand in Tamil Nadu, where three former film industry professionals -- MG Ramachandran, M Karunanidhi and J Jayalalithaa -- have been voted to power. However, the thespian has so far skipped opportunities to contest elections keep the part waiting about his real political plans.Assembly elections  in Tamil Nadu next year are still largely seen as a contest between the ruling AIADMK and the opposition DMK party. Rajinikanth has said he, too, will be in the fray, but there is no clarity as to what will be his role as he has already spilled the beans that he plans to be the kingmaker and not the king.
