Harish Rao, Telangana's Finance Minister has tested positive for coronavirus. He revealed the news on his official Twitter handle. Taking to his Twitter he tweeted, "On getting initial symptoms of coronavirus, I got the test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine, I request that all those who have come in contact with me in the last few days, please isolate yourself and get Covid Test done." The Minister is currently under home quarantine and will not attend the monsoon session that is set to commence from September 7.
After developing mild symptoms including body pain, Harish got tested on Friday. The test report came on late Friday night.In the absence of Harish Rao, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to handle Finance subject in the Assembly. Harish Rao is among the few Ministers in the state, who frequently interact with the public. He has been always seen using a mask and taking necessary precautions during public interactions. Telangana reported 2,511 new cases and 11 deaths due to coronavirus on Friday. The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Telangana are 1,38,395. This includes 877 deaths and 32,915 active cases.
