Bhigwan Case: Woman Refutes Kidnapping Claim, Says She Went With Man by Choice

For the past two days, the alleged kidnapping of a young woman from the Bhigwan market in Pune had created tension in the area. Hindutva organisations had taken an aggressive stand over the incident. However, the young woman later stated that she was not kidnapped and that she had gone with the man willingly because they were in a relationship. Now, a major update has emerged, as both the woman and the youth have appeared before the Baramati City Police.

According to the information, the couple arrived at the Baramati City Police Station at 1.30 am. The girl remains firm on the statement she had made in the earlier video, where she said that her family was aware of the relationship, but she fled because her marriage was being arranged elsewhere.

A kidnapping complaint had been filed at Bhigwan Police Station on Tuesday, February 17, at around 4 pm. It was alleged that the girl was abducted from the Bhigwan market area while she was with her mother and brother, and that the attackers assaulted them before taking her away.

Hindutva organisations staged strong protests over the incident. A Hindu Jan Aakrosh Morcha was also organised in the presence of MLAs Gopichand Padalkar and Sangram Jagtap. The young woman’s statement that she had gone with the man of her own free will and was not kidnapped added a major twist to the case.
