Pimpri-Chinchwad Kidnapping Video: Businessman Abducted in Broad Daylight, Screams for Help
A businessman was kidnapped in broad daylight in front of people in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area near Pune. The CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media, which has concerned society and shocked others with how people at the scene do not care about it. According to reports, the businessman was later rescued by Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch Police, along with the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) and Kalewadi Police. The victim has been identified as Suresh Kumar, who was abducted for a Rs 50 lakh ransom and was taken to Uttar Pradesh.
According to the CCTV video, the incident occurred at around 5.12 pm on Monday, March 9, near the Fountain Hotel in Rahatani. As per the police, five unidentified men in a black car forcibly abducted the victim, Sureshkumcar. Shortly after, kidnappers contacted the victim's brother, a local businessman, demanding Rs 50 lakh in exchange for Sureshkumar's life. Police registered a case at Kalewadi Police Station under sections 140(1), 140(2) and 3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act 2023.

In a viral TV footage, victim Sureshkumar can be seen screaming for help, "bachao bachao," but people gathered at the scene were noticed watching from a distance without taking action. The victim was reportedly travelling on his bike in the Shivraj Nagar area. Police stated that the group of men, claiming to be officers from Uttar Pradesh Police, pushed him inside the car forcefully and asked him to come with them.
The police team found that the gang was heading towards Madhya Pradesh. Police team chased the vehicle for nearly 100 kms before laying a trap near the Hiwargaon Pawasa toll plaza in Sangamner in Ahilyanagar district with the help of local police.

The police intercepted the vehicle, rescued the kidnapped businessman safely and arrested six accused involved in the crime. Police seized two pistols, six live cartridges, five mobile phones and a swift car, which was used in the kidnapping and a watch worth over 7 lakh. The total value of the seized property is estimated to be about Rs 18 lakh.
The arrested accused have been identified as Chandrashekhar Deepchand Gaur, Dilip Mohanlal Saroj, Rinku Alguram Saroj, Anil Girdharilal Saroj, Mukesh Kumar Rammurat Chamar and Santan Suresh Chavan.
