Pune: Fire Breaks Out at Sugar Factory in Patas, Destroys Bagasse Stock

Pune: A sudden blaze erupted in the bagasse stock at the Bhima Cooperative Sugar Factory in Patas (Daund Taluka) resulted in significant damage to the bagasse. However, there was no loss of life in this incident. Meanwhile, a truck was completely gutted in the blaze. The exact cause of the fire remains unclear.

The fire started around 10:00 AM today in the bagasse stored within the factory premises. Fueled by the wind, the flames spread rapidly and intensely. Upon realizing that a fire had broken out, factory workers immediately attempted to extinguish it. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, four fire tenders from the Kurkumbh Industrial Estate were promptly dispatched to the scene.

The fire was brought under control by the afternoon. A truck that was parked nearby to load bagasse was completely destroyed after the flames engulfed it. Police personnel from the Patas Outpost visited the scene to assess the situation.
