Pune Horror: Dead Body of Infant and 11 Jars of Humman Organs Found in Garbage in Daund

In a horrific incident, authorities launched an investigation Tuesday after an infant and multiple jars containing human body parts were discovered in a garbage bin behind the Prime Town Hotel in Borawke Nagar, Daund near Pune. A local resident found the remains and immediately alerted police. 

Officers conducted a initial assessment of the scene, examined the hospital administration’s role, and registered a case against unknown individuals. However, speculation has arisen that the hospital responsible for disposing of the remains may receive immunity.

As per the Lokmat.com report One jar contained a deceased male infant, while 11 others held human body parts. Police traced the boxes to Bhangale Hospital, as its name was labeled on them. Hospital officials claimed the jars contained organs from surgical procedures, with each jar labeled with a patient’s name. Dr. Sandeep Gujar, superintendent of the Sub-District Hospital, examined the remains and confirmed they were male infants. Bhangale Hospital provided a file listing the patients' names to authorities. The Sub-District Hospital and local police continue to investigate.

“The truth will come out through this investigation,” said Dr. Sachin Gujar, superintendent of Daund Sub-District Hospital. The State Women's Commission addressed the incident on social media, stating preliminary findings suggest the remains had been stored at the hospital for study since 2020 and were mistakenly discarded.

However, the commission’s connection to the case remains unclear. “The deceased infant was four and a half months old. His relatives were asked to collect the remains, but they did not. The other jars contained organs such as a uterus, appendix, and hernia, which had been kept since 2020 by mistake,” said Dr. Pramod Bhangale of Bhangale Hospital.

Following the discovery, law enforcement officials responded to the scene and launched a formal inquiry. “A proper investigation has been initiated based on the panchnama,” said Bapurao Dadas, sub-divisional police officer.
