Pune city is experiencing, unseasonal heavy rains, lighting and hail storms in many parts. Due to heavy rains many areas reported waterlogging A sharp rise in temperatures had made afternoons uncomfortable, but a sudden weather shift brought unexpected rain to Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad around 2:30 pm on Thursday. The showers caught many commuters and pedestrians off guard during peak hours as they sought shelter.
Areas including Sinhagad Road, Dhankawadi, Katraj, Hadapsar, Lohegaon, Baner, Bibwewadi and Kharadi witnessed rainfall accompanied by hailstones. The torrential downpour caused considerable chaos and scrambling among Puneites. The weather typically remains hot until the afternoon each day, after which the rains begin. This pattern has led Pune residents to feel as though the monsoon season has already set in.
Pune will experience a slight increase in maximum and minimum temperatures over the next two days. Afternoon skies will likely be overcast, with a chance of light rain, gusty winds, and thunder in the evening. The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for the city.

Tuesday was overcast with a brief break in the rain. Wednesday brought cloudy skies, increased humidity, and heat. Around 3 PM, suburban areas experienced light showers as winds picked up. Thursday, intense heat gave way to heavy rains in the afternoon. Hail fell on the Katraj-Satara road, while Kothrud and Karve Nagar remained sunny until about an hour later. Light showers occurred in Deccan and Shivajinagar, bringing cooler air. By 8:30 PM last night, the city recorded 0.4 mm of rainfall, and Lohegaon recorded 32.6 mm. This is the second hailstorm this week.
