Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra: A woman candidate has been booked for allegedly attempting to cheat during a police recruitment examination held at Shri Balaji Vidyamandir in Tathawade on Sunday, March 15, 2026. The accused has been identified as Anuja Dilip Chavan (26), a resident of Undale in Karad taluka of Satara district.

Police constable Archana Navnath Saste lodged a complaint in connection with the incident at the Wakad police station on Monday, March 16.

The written test was part of the constable recruitment process for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. During the pre-examination screening of candidates at the examination center at Shri Balaji Vidyamandir in Tathawade around 9:45 a.m., members of the recruitment team noticed slips containing answers hidden in the pocket of Chavan’s jeans and attached to her clothes.

Following the discovery, a case was registered against her for malpractice in a government examination. Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Kurade of the Wakad division is investigating the case.
