A tragedy struck in the Indira Nagar area of Wagle Estate in Thane, where a six-year-old child died of electrocution. Following this incident their is a anger among residents over the negligence by electricity department. As per the FPJ report, On Monday May 4 night child was playing near his house when he came into contact with a cluster of exposed electric wires located close to a chawl.
A child died instantly after suffering a severe electric shock from cables believed to be linked to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. Enraged residents gathered outside the Srinagar Police Station around midnight, staging a sit-in demanding accountability. Local representative Eknath Bhoir joined the protest, supporting calls for strict action and the registration of a culpable homicide case against allegedly negligent officials.
The incident has reignited concerns about electrical safety in densely populated urban areas, especially informal settlements with exposed wiring and illegal connections.
